Terms of Use for Loans Saskatoon

These terms cover your use of this website. In short: the site is free, it is information plus a referral link, it is not a lender and not advice, any loan you sign later is a contract with the lender under Saskatchewan law, and the province's payday protections apply to you regardless of anything written here.

What this site is and is not

Loans Saskatoon is a publisher. It explains how payday loans and installment loans work for people in Saskatoon under Saskatchewan and federal law and, through the apply link, connects you to a separate application platform used by licensed Canadian lenders. The site does not lend money, does not make credit decisions, holds no payday lender licence because it does not need one, and never receives your application details. Nothing on it is financial, legal or tax advice for your situation.

Accuracy and updates

We work from The Payday Loans Act of Saskatchewan, the federal Criminal Interest Rate Regulations, and the guidance the FCAA and the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada publish, and we check the figures when any of them change. The "last updated" date at the top of each page tells you when it was last reviewed.

Laws change and lenders change their products, so a page can lag. If a figure here and the figure on a lender's disclosure disagree, the disclosure is what you are signing, and if it shows more than $14 per $100 on a payday loan or more than 35% APR on an installment loan, do not sign it.

The referral relationship

When you click apply you leave this site. If a loan funds, the lender pays us a referral fee. That fee is between the lender and us; it does not change your fee, your rate or your repayment, and it is never charged to you. We do not receive your application, your banking details or your credit information. The about page describes the arrangement in plain words and the privacy page covers what the link carries.

Your loan agreement is with the lender

Any loan you take is a contract between you and the licensed lender named on the agreement, governed by that agreement and by Saskatchewan law. A payday loan runs under The Payday Loans Act: the next business day cancellation right, the rollover ban, the 50% of net pay limit and the $14 per $100 cap all come from that Act and from the lender's licence with the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan, not from these terms.

An installment loan runs under its own agreement and the 35% ceiling in section 347 of the Criminal Code. Questions about a loan you hold go to the lender; complaints about a lender's conduct go to the FCAA.

Acceptable use

You may read, link to and quote short passages from this site with attribution. You may not copy pages wholesale, scrape the site, present its content as your own, or use it to send unsolicited messages to anyone. The site is written for adults in Canada; the age of majority in Saskatchewan is 18, and no lender on the platform will sign an agreement with anyone younger.

Limits on liability

The site is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it accurate and current, and we accept no liability for decisions you make on the basis of it, for the conduct of any lender or the platform, or for the site or the platform being unavailable when you need them. Where Saskatchewan or federal law does not allow a limit like this, the limit does not apply.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms when the site or the law changes, and the date at the top moves when we do. Using the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. Questions about them go to the address on the contact page.

Our loan options in Saskatoon

One page per product, each with its own cost table and who qualifies.

How Loans Saskatoon makes money: loanssaskatoon.ca is a free loan connection service, not a lender. When you apply, we match your application with licensed Canadian lenders and earn a referral fee from the lender if your loan funds. This never changes your rate or costs you anything. We do not make credit decisions and never charge borrowers. Cost examples: a $300 payday loan for 14 days at $14 per $100 costs $42 in fees ($342 total, about 365% APR); payday fees are capped at $14 per $100 in every province except Quebec, to a $1500 maximum. Personal installment loans range 18% to 35% APR over 3 to 60 months. All lending is subject to lender approval and provincial rules.
